My 6 Month Journey with Amazon Affiliate Program
What is Affiliate Marketing
Affiliate marketing is commission and performance based marketing where you would get commission to recommend and purchase any product. You are recommending some products on your website to purchase, when user read it’s review and purchase it, you would get commission from that purchase.
I was not aware of Affiliate marketing not about it’s potential how much I was able to make money with Affiliate program before. I have been blogging since 2009 and living only on adsense. Recently one of my friend Vicky Sadhu recommends me about Affiliate Programs. Amazon is one of the best Free to Join Affiliate Program and I have joined it.I would really thankful to him for introducing me about Affiliate marketing and with his help, I have started writing on hubpages and monetized those content with Amazon affiliate products.
When I Started Affiliate Marketing with Amazon
2nd Month – Amazon Affiliate Marketing
During First Month, I got several clicks to my amazon affiliate products but no sales. I was very frustrated with it because all my efforts was in wrong direction I thought. However I started writing more articles on hubpages as well as on my personal blogs. I also wrote one article on Squidoo.What I did was edited few popular articles from my personal blog and modified them with amazon affiliate links. On Next month, I got my first sale. Not actually first, but total 5 Product shipped and I made only $2.61 USD from that. Here is the report for 1st February 2014 to 1st March 2014 from may amazon affiliate account.
I was getting success slowly and I saw my efforts in right direction but there is one weak point I observed in marketing on second month. I observed that total 5 iteams was shipped from my amazon affiliate link and total const of those 5 product was only $65.10 USD. So my commission was less. If I have promoted products worth high amount, my Amazon Affiliate Commission would be greater than those.Remember, that this is only tip for affiliate marketers, but make sure while promoting high amount product on your blog, you are promoting right product. If you only promote product for commission, you would loose authority and your loyal readers as your readers follows you. Your blog readers would purchase product upon your recommendation, so never promote a product that pays high amount but you would loose faith from readers.
3rd Month in Amazon Affiliate Marketing
What I did is learned few things about marketing. I have signed up for more affiliate programs and started using them on my personal blog as well as on group blogs.
Now I was not only promoting amazon affiliate but also promoting some more affiliate networks. I got only 2 product sale during my third month in affiliate marketing with amazon.
4th Month in Amazon Affiliate Marketing
Now I learned so many things. If you have personal blog, you should write blogpost with detailed information and it start promoting it. What I did is started building backlinks from high authority sites that would going to improve referral traffic to my blog. One more implement I did during this month was started using Hittail – premium SEO tool on one of my blog where I was promoting amazon Affiliate links and other Affiliate Marketing Products. This month, I only tried to improve ranking and SEO for it. I did not promoted only one or two products on my blog and hubpages.
That month did not lucky for me, and during that month, I got zero sales. However I did not gave up, I started promoting good products by checking it’s reviews and based on it’s performance.
5th Month of Amazon Affiliate Marketing
During this month, I was seeing fruits of my hard work. I made highest sale from my amazon affiliate account. However it may be low when you compare it with other probloggers. I was happy because It was first highest sale and commission during those 5 months. I made $411.38 USD total sale and my commission was $16.87 USD during that month.
Suddenly my mind got an idea, to get more conversation and sales. I thought I am promoting product reviews and products on my personal blogs. It get traffics and clicks also but sales are very low. I mean click vs sales ratio was very low. I thought about it, and suddenly got an idea about decreasing click vs sales ratio.
I registered a domain latestcouponportal.com and started a blog on WordPress. I have searched for custom CMS specially for coupon related website but It was too costly. Finally I got WordPress coupon theme. It was Clipper WordPress theme, that would dynamically transform my blog into actual coupon portal. I have implemented so many affiliate programs in that single website. Interesting thing about clipper WordPress theme was it is specially designed for affiliate marketing. it would automatically cloak affiliate link like Prettylinkpro and redirect readers through that link. You need not to mask all your affiliate link, it would automatically mask and add permanent redirection to your affiliate link. All you have to do is simply paste your affiliate link in product and it would add redirection to that link.
6th Month of Amazon Affiliate Marketing
This sixth month is started before few days and today is 7th June 2014. it was around 7 days and within 7 days , total 6 product was sale during 1st June 2014 to 5th June 2014. It was updated pending for update when I wrote this post. 2 days were still left to count and update in my amazon affiliate account.
I think coupon code site has boosted my affiliate earning from all top 10 Best Affiliate Program. I will share more updates about my affiliate earning as well as what I did to boost my earning on this blog. If you are looking for Amazon Associates Program Review, I would say it is the best Affiliate program that actually pays.
If you are looking for Affiliate Marketing Opportunities, I would say write a product review blog along with all pros and cons and with your affiliate link. Mask your affiliate links, be always honest and keep constantly writing about upcoming products. Soon you would started receiving organic traffic and your blog readers would love to read review and buy products through your affiliate links.

Hi Mahesh,
We can use those theme because they have builtin feature to easily create product listing and content. I would recommend readymade themes like azon authority if we are thinking to invest first and earn more. We can also use fresh store builder if we think we can make more from it. All is about how we spread it to the internet and how peoples are reach to your content.
